Obama’s 51 Vote Healthcare Bill Arrives Monday (2/22)

February 19, 2010

According to a recent Rasmussen poll, 72% of Americans do not want the current Healthcare Reform bill with 61% believing that President Obama should completely scrap the current Healthcare proposal and start over again.  In spite of the will of the people, Obama, Pelosi and Reid are doing everything that they can to get around the Senate’s filibuster rules and jam socialized healthcare down the throats of the American people.

First, let me explain that the Senate has a filibuster (a requirement for 60 votes to bring legislation to the floor to be voted on) for a good reason.  This system was set up to make sure that the two parties work together on major legislation, rather than having  one party dominate legislation.  This is what the American people want from Congress; both parties working together to craft legislation that benefits all Americans, rather than each party working separately in order to get more of its members of their own party re-elected.  The filibuster forces both parties to work together.

According to the NY Times ( the White house is currently crafting a bill which smooths out the differences between the House and Senate versions of the Healthcare Reform Act and then will attach that revised bill to a budget bill in order to ram it through with only 51 votes.  Without care for the will of the people and in total disregard for the rules of the senate, the President intends on jamming this bill right down the throat of the American voter.

Now is not the  time to sit on your hands America, it is time to act.

The bill should be posted on the internet for review by Monday (2/22).  Do not wait until it is too late.
