Charlie Crist, a Florida Republican (RINO) candidate for the US Senate, has a campaign that is hemorrhaging. Polls are dropping, staff is fleeing and Gov. Crist has let a perfect opportunity to demonstrate class and conviction pass him by.
Crist is battling media and Conservative darling Marco Rubio for Florida’s Republican nomination. Recently, Mr. Rubio was the victim of a racially charged attack. Donny Deutsch of MSNBC, called the son of a Cuban immigrant a “coconut” during while speaking on the Joy Bahar Show. See video here.
The Urban Dictionary defines a “coconut” as:
n. a person who is tan on the outside (mexican, indian, philipino) and white on the inside
Mr. Deutsch’s insult is akin to calling an African-American candidate an Uncle Tom.
If Governor Crist had any respect for Florida’s Hispanic community, he would have immediately denounced Deutsch (an ardent Crist supporter) and his racially charged comments. As of now, Crist has not done so.
Voters want a candidate with class and convictions; obviously Charlie Crist is not one of those candidates.
