Obama’s Healthcare Hypocrisy

March 9, 2010

March 8th, 2010, in Glenside, PA, President Barak Obama gave a rambling speech demonizing both those for and against his Healthcare Reform Bill.  His hope is to garner a little public support for his very unpopular bill.  Obama criticizes the Republicans claiming that they had 10 years and did nothing; clearly forgetting about the Medicare Modernization Act of 2003.

Republicans aside, the President spews most of his venom at the Insurance industry, claiming that Obamacare will;

“[E]liminate wasted taxpayer subsidies that go to insurance and pharmaceutical companies.  They are getting billions of dollars a year from the government, from taxpayers, when they are making a big profit.”

Interestingly, the insurance industry, which pays lobbyists millions of dollars to protect and promote its image, never defends itself from the White House attacks.  That is because they know that  the President’s spoken word does not match what is written the bill for them.  Although he rails against the insurance industry in public, the truth is;

  • Visitor Logs reveal that insurance executives visited the White House frequently to negotiate this bill with the President.
  • Obama’s Healthcare Reform act mandates 30 million new customers for the insurance companies.
  • The bill contains $436 Billion in subsidies for the insurance industry.

Those that the President claims are the enemy of the people are actually in bed with him.  Presidential hypocrisy at its finest.

    But he is such a good speaker and your racist… sorry, I was channeling my inner democrat.

    The worst part is that no progressive democrat cares about the facts, all they care about is that they won.

    I can almost guarantee you that not one democrat will comment on your post with anything to defend the President that does not include pointing the finger at Bush for causing the problem, their so predictable. Then again, they may just ignore your post all together.

      I agree. When I was a kid, I had a guinea pig and when Fluffy was scared he would run and stick his head in the corner of his cage. He figured if he could not see me, then I did not exist and he had gotten away from me. Progressives seem to think the same way. If they do not acknowledge facts, then they do not exist. If they do not admit to being wrong, then they are right. If they never admit defeat, then they are never defeated.

      Unfortunately, the biggest crisis our healthcare system may face is a decade from now when all these progressives finally snap and our mental health institutions are overwhelmed by them.

    I edited the Insurance Industry Subsidy number on 3/10/10. I had mistakenly reported that there were $336 Billion in insurance company subsidies; there are $436 Billion. A link has been added to the CBO report. The number can be found on p. 8, first full paragraph under Effects of Insurance Coverage Provisions.
