Healthcare Debate takes its Toll on Obama’s Approval Numbers
Public speaking is supposed to be President Obama’s forte, unfortunately the more he speaks the lower his approval ratings get.
He began his presidency at 68% approval and closes this week 22 points lower, at 46%; 45% disapproval.
Last week, the President began a campaign-style tour of the nation, railing against the Health Insurance Industry while championing his Healthcare reform bill. His approval numbers have dropped as a result.
It has been postulated by some that the President might be intentionally sabotaging the Healthcare Reform debate, ceding Democrat control of Congress to the GOP in order to have a do-nothing Republican House and Senate to run against when he is up for re-election in 2012. If so, he is doing an excellent job.
