Mr. Altmire – please support president Obama and his plan for health care. As a Republican for the last 30 years, I have never voted the party line but voted for what I thought was right. Although I feel his plan has some problems, these can be corrected by “tweaking” the bill. I strongly urge you to vote “yes” when the bill vote comes.

Any bill that needs 14 months of arm twisting and bribes, that pays for abortions and can only be passed through on an unconstitutional technical maneuver, not a straight up or down vote, needs more than just “tweaking”. Hopefully Rep. Altmire will vote to Kill the Bill; start over and get Healthcare fixed Constitutionally, bipartisanly and ethically.

    Congressman Altmire:

I am writing to express my passionate opposition to the current healthcare reform initiative. I firmly believe the proposed bill will not only raise the cost of healthcare for the average American, but will also reduce the quality and accessibility of care. While the great majority of the nation acknowledges the need for improvement in our healthcare system, the great majority also registers opposition to this particular bill. Sensible measures aimed at reducing costs should be considered, without overhauling our entire system. Two such measures have been proposed often throughout this debate, but have not been seriously considered, and have not been included in the current bill – specifically the allowance of competition among insurance companies across state lines as well as liability reform to reduce the high costs associated with unnecessary medical tests , so-called defensive medicine. I am asking that you reflect the will of the American people by voting no.

    Sincerely,

    Claudia Froebe

Please vote NO on this pork laden health bill! 2000 page bills that not even the President has read all the way through is not a step in the right direction.

I would ask you to consider some simple fixes to this issue:
    1. Allow insurance companies to compete across state lines
    2. Tort reform, lawyers and plantives that bring baseless suits should be penalized.
    3. Catastrophic coverage should be available for affordable prices.
    4. The Governemnt should allow the free market to prevail, our government should not take over this or any other part of the economy. Its been proven over and over that our government is not good at running companies / industries.

Thank You for your strong stance on this issue.
