Recess

March 29, 2010

Every American can celebrate.  Congress is on vacation and that means; no more new taxes (at least until April 9th)!  Unfortunately, our Congressional representatives will be back at “work” again soon to take up the following issues:

  1. Energy Bill: also known as Cap and Trade, or a way for government to tax everything that uses energy.
  2. Amnesty: granting citizenship and benefits benefits to people who have broken US law by illegally entering our country.
  3. Financial Regulation: gives the government more tax dollars for TARP and makes it easier for them to take over businesses.

Noticeably missing from the list: any kind of substantial Jobs Bill.

Fortunately, Spring recess means that your Congressman is forced out of hiding in Washington DC, back to his or her home districts to be amongst the common folks; the voters.

Now is the time to make your voice heard.  Go to www.House.gov, type in your 5 digit zip code + the 4 additional digits.  This will take you to your representatives web page where you can find their office location, contact information as well as their scheduled events.  Call your Representative and schedule an appointment to let them know what you think about the recently passed Healthcare Bill (repeal it!) and what you think about the other issues on the President’s agenda.  Let your Congressman know that you are TAXED ENOUGH ALREADY!

If you cannot schedule an appointment, check the Congressman’s schedule on that website and attend any and all Town Hall meetings that are listed.  If your Congressman is too cowardly to schedule an appointment with you and refuses to  hold Town Hall meetings, use social networks like Facebook and Twitter to get together with fellow voters and schedule a protest outside their local Congressional offices.

Your voice must be heard!
