False Apologies

May 4, 2010

PA-12 Democrat Candidate Mark Critz (D)

At the April 29, 2010 Debate held in Johnstown, PA, a stuttering and flustered Mark Critz “apologized” for the misleading remarks that his campaign had made regarding Republican candidate Tim Burns’ record on taxes, but only after reviewd the advertisements, which were paid for by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), and determined that the ads were “quite misleading”.

So I want to take this opportunity, that if I’ve misstated Mr. Burns’ position on something, that I apologize. I didn’t mean to do that. It was my understanding that he did support the Fair Tax, and if that’s wrong, I apologize.

After the apology, the DCCC pulled the commercials from TV; for a few days.

But as the Alisnky Rules have taught Democrats, “a lie, repeated often enough, eventually becomes the truth”, so the Critz lie continues.

So the Critz lie is back on TV.

At the same time, the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) is repeating the very same lie.  AFSCME has purchased radio advertising which claims that Tim Burns wants to raise taxes 23%,  a repeat of the very same false claim that just last week Mark Critz admitted was not true, and apologized for perpetuating.

If Mark Critz truly is a “leader” he will stop the lies of his campaign, his party and their surrogates.  As everyone knows, an apology is only an apology when it precedes repentance, yet the Critz Camp continues to lie about Tim Burns’ pledge to not raise taxes.

Quite honestly, the American people are sick of lies and these Washington insider, politics as usual tactics.  The good residents of Pennsylvania’s 12 Congressional District deserve a candidate who can man up and tell them the honest to God truth.

Mark Critz, you are not that man.
