Sestak 46%, Toomey 42%, Blah, Blah, Blah…
Do not get yourself all worked up about the Rasmussen numbers showing Joe Sestak with an early 46% to 42% lead over Pat Toomey.
Sestak just blew his $5 million advertising wad on touchey-feeley ads that talked up his own positives without ever having to fight back against Specter on any substinative political issue. Sestak ran as the only Democrat in the Democrat primary and Arlen could not do anything about it.
Toomey, on the other hand, has outraised every Senate candidate in the nation and did not have to spend more than $5 or $10 of it in his race against Peg Luksik (who probably couldn’t get elected dog catcher in her own household).
At the moment, Sestak is some sort of folk hero with all voters in PA for dealing the death blow to old mumbles. Heck, even those who voted for Specter are glad to see him gone. But, when push comes to shove this November, voters are going to have to choose for one of these candidates, not against Specter.
Once all the dust settles and Pennsylvanians hear where each candidate stands on the issues, Toomey should cruise to an easy victory this November.
