South Carolina Republicans Censure State Sen. Jake Knotts for His “Raghead” Remarks

June 11, 2010

South Carolina State Senator Jake Knotts (R)

Last week, South Carolina State Senator Jake Knotts used the racist term “raghead” when referring to both Nikki Haley and President Obama; this week, Republicans are calling on Knotts to resign.

By an Executive Committee vote of 27-6, South Carolina Republicans censured Knotts for his statements and called on him to resign his office.

BE IT RESOLVED that the Lexington County Republican Party condemns the racist statements made by Senator Jake Knotts; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lexington County Republican Party hereby censures Senator Jake Knotts; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Lexington County Republican Party calls on Senator Jake Knotts to resign his office forthwith.

The portly politico’s ‘fat chance’ response repeated his doubts about her faith in Christ;

“This is nothing but politics, I’m not resigning. I could care less.”

“Have you ever asked her if she believes in Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and that he died on the cross for her sins? Have you asked her that?”

Clearly, Jake Knotts is not bright enough to do the right thing.

You can watch Knotts’ rambling rationalizations, libertarian conspiracy theories and further attacks on Nikki Haley at WMBF News.

IF Mr. Knotts believed all that about Jesus himself would he be throwing stones at people? Especially when as Sen. he lives in a glass house. No, he would show the love of Jesus. He is NOTHING but a bigot.

That’s nice jaKKKe… you have pandered to the racists and the religious right all in one week.

You are an angry, arrogant, fat, ugly, pitiful man.

I do believe that Jesus died for my sins, and whether you reach heavan or not, I can only hope he will “care less” about false prophets like yourself that manipulate for power and slander in his name.

For what it is worth, it was not the state party that censured Sen. Knotts, it was the Lexington County Republican Party, his home party.

Yes, Lexington county is a county in the state of South Carolina. The republicans were state of South Carolina Republicans, not from the national party. South Carolina Republicans.

Mentioning that they are Lexington County Republicans creates a situation whereas a writer I have to explain to my readers outside of South Carolina that Lexington County is a county in the state of South Carolina where Knotts lives and which he represents. Basically a bunch of fluff unrelated to the story.

They are Republicans from the state of South Carolina, not the State Republican Party.
