Obama Poll Numbers Continue to Drop
The BP oil spill continues to be a Big Problem for Barack Obama.
Even after the President’s recent address to the nation, or perhaps because of, his poll numbers continue to slide.
The AP-GfK Poll found that 74% feel angry that the blowout is being fixed so slowly.
Friday’s Rasmussen Poll had President Obama at a new record low approval number. Only 41% of the nation approve of the President’s performance; 58% disapprove.
Gallop’s numbers are showing that the negative opinions that the public is forming towards the President are beginning to effect his 2012 re-election chances.
To demonstrate how recent events are effecting his polling, Obama’s numbers are also dropping worldwide. Despite continued outreach to the Muslim world;
Five of seven Muslim-majority nations that were polled, his popularity slid over the last year, winning approval ratings from about one-third or less of respondents.
Even when victorious, Obama rubs against the electorate’s grain; 58% of American voters favor the repeal of the President’s Healthcare reform.
Much like George Costanza on Seinfeld, it might be time for this President to begin doing the exact opposite of his first instinct.
