Supreme Court Rules in Favor of Gun Rights

June 28, 2010

By a vote of 5-4, the Supreme Court for the first time ruled that gun possession is fundamental to American freedom.

In the Majority opinion, Justice Alito wrote;

“It is clear that the Framers and ratifiers of the Fourteenth Amendment counted the right to keep and bear arms among those fundamental rights necessary to our system of ordered liberty.”

In 2008, the court voided a District of Columbia handgun ban, but Washington DC is federal territory and not part of a state, the legal basis for imposing federal constitutional limits on gun laws adopted by states had been unclear.

Monday’s ruling extended the fundamental right to bear arms to the rest of the country.

Amendment II

A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

    I’ll take a win, but 5-4 is way too narrow when it comes to a Constitutional RIGHT! Everyone has to deluge their senators with phone calls, faxes, emails to OPPOSE Kagan since she has made it well known she opposes guns—PERIOD! she’s a far-left muslin radical who advocates for, what else, the overthrow of the U.S. in favor of a muslin government—JUST LIKE THE ONE WHO NOMINATED HER! Don’t take my word for it, do your homework (FAST) and you’ll see how radical she is.
